Once Schilling sent out that tweet (pictured above), we were all just waiting for ESPN to make the official announcement.
ESPN has removed former MLB pitcher and current baseball analyst Curt Schilling from an assignment calling this week’s Sunday Night Baseball game between the Cubs and the Dodgers
ESPN called the sentiment “completely unacceptable,” and said it “in no way represents our company’s perspective. We made that point very strongly to Curt.”
Removing Schill from the LLWS broadcast alone wouldn’t suffice, given that he’d be back in the booth for a Nationally televised game this Sunday night.
It doesn’t sound as though Curt has permanently lost his job on Sunday Night Baseball, though, which ESPN may find is now causing more harm than good. His analysis of the game has always been on point – it’s just the random racist comments we can’t deal with.
For now it’s just another strike for Schilling, one more and you can guarantee he’s out for good.
