A 22-year-old woman, who was given permission by her boyfriend to burn his penis with a hair straightener after he cheated on her, has received a suspended jail sentence.
Applying the straightener for just a few seconds, Bronwyn Joy Parker told the police she thought it would only feel like sunburn.
Ms Parker pleaded guilty to the incident which occurred in December 2013 and received a suspended nine-month jail sentence upon entering an 18-month good behaviour bond.
‘In short, his penis will be scarred for life and he will suffer from a number of issues, including the proper function of his penis, not to mention the cosmetic and psychological problems associated with the scarring to such a sensitive site,’ Judge Muscat said.
The judge recognised the jealous nature of Ms Parker and the troubled relationship, which saw her initially planning to burn her boyfriend’s testicles.
‘You regularly abused him, including physically, if you suspected, or, if he admitted to being unfaithful to you. You were particularly jealous of his association with his ex-girlfriend,’ he said.
He was an idiot for agreeing to it, but it was obvious she was an abusive girlfriend. That is what happens when you meet your significant other off Facebook.
