Marshawn Lynch Says Jayden Daniels Needs to Do More Self Loving to Protect Elbow

Marshawn Lynch has never been accused of giving conventional advice. On Thursday, the former NFL running back applied that reputation to Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels’ latest elbow injury and produced one of the week’s most-shared clips in football.

Lynch, co-host of “Da Get Got Pod” with Mike Robinson, was reacting to recent injuries to Daniels and Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams when the conversation turned to Daniels’ left elbow. Daniels dislocated the same non-throwing elbow Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, the latest in a string of left-arm setbacks that have interrupted his young career. X-rays showed no fracture. The Commanders still face a familiar choice: treat the instability conservatively or consider surgery that would likely end his season.

Lynch’s prescription was not a brace, a strengthening protocol or more time in the training room.

“That lil n*** needs to start going to jack off,” Lynch said. “He needs to be ambidextrous when he beating that motherf***.”

He then explained the football logic, at least as he sees it. Lynch said the reason his own stiff-arm was “so cold” is that he trained both sides. In the clip, he gestures through the point and cuts to old highlights of himself delivering the move. The joke is crude. The argument is that using both hands would build forearm and elbow strength on the arm Daniels keeps landing on.

Robinson, sitting across from him, is visibly trying not to break. The original clip from @GetGotPod collected hundreds of thousands of views within hours. A clipped version posted by @SleeperNFL exploded past 3.5 million views and 30,000 likes by Thursday night.

The medical reality behind the joke is less funny. Daniels first dislocated the elbow on Nov. 2, 2025, against Seattle. He returned about a month later, then aggravated it against Minnesota and was shut down. On Sept. 20 he went down again after getting tangled near the goal line, bracing the fall with the same arm. Doctors have described the pattern as residual looseness after a simple dislocation — no broken bone, but ligaments that did not tighten the way the team hoped. Strengthening the surrounding muscles and using a brace are the non-surgical options if Washington tries to play him this year.

Lynch is not a physical therapist. He is, however, a Hall of Fame-caliber runner whose playing style depended on using his off arm as a weapon. That is the part X locked onto.

The clip did not need much translation. Users treated it as peak Beast Mode: unfiltered, slightly unhinged and oddly specific.

“Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING, prepared me for what Beast mode was about to say,” wrote @kjzilymbcg.

@HaterReport called the solution “INSANE” and isolated the stiff-arm punch line: “Why you think a n*gga stiffarm was so cold… I was ambidextrous.”

@VisSwoops summarized it in cleaner language: “Marshawn Lynch advice to Jayden Daniels to strengthen his elbow and forearms is to choke the chicken.”

@RaiderOutlaw took it one locker-room step further, writing that Lynch “saying what he says definitely means they were roasting Russell Wilson in the locker room.” The Wilson leap is fan fiction. The tone is not. Lynch has always talked like a teammate who never left the back of the bus.

Sports accounts treated the clip as both joke and content. @NFL_DovKleiman posted the video with “Wild.” @nflrums and @fballforeverhq ran the quote as a headline. Commanders-side account @CommandersPost framed it as “the solution to JD’s injury” and added, “No surgery needed.” A reply from @DreamDemonVT simply said “JD5 next season,” pairing the line with a clip implying Daniels would return bulked up in both arms.

That last joke tracks with something Daniels has actually been doing. After a beating in 2025, he spent the offseason adding lean mass so he could absorb contact. His personal coach has talked about “body armor.” Lynch’s version of body armor is just more colorful.
