The NFL announced Monday that DB Chris Culliver has been suspended one game for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
According to NBC,
Culliver was arrested in March 2014 and charged with hit and run for leaving the scene after hitting a bicyclist with his car. A witness chased Culliver down and boxed in his car, which led Culliver to threaten him with brass knuckles.
That decision led to another charge, both of which Culliver, who was a member of the 49ers at the time of the arrest, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors to resolve the charges in June of this year. The Washington Times reports that he was sentenced to informal court probation for two years and to perform 40 hours of community service.
Culliver, who signed a four-year contract with the Redskins this offseason, started in the loss to the Dolphins and recorded one tackle.
It’s a sad case, hopefully the bicyclist is okay.
