The final preseason game has come and gone and it’s time for Chip Kelly to make the decision on who makes his 53-man roster. Two players on the bubble are quarterbacks Tim Tebow and Matt Barkley but who has earned the 3rd roster spot?
It’s understood that Sam Bradford will be the Eagles week one starter and Mark “butt fumble” Sanchez, who has actually played well in Kelly’s system, will serve as his backup. Tonight’s game was some what of a showcase for Tebow and Barkley to show who was better suited to be the team’s 3rd quarterback.
Tebow has been out of the NFL for two years but is still one of the most popular players in the league. He stood by the fact that he thinks he is and NFL caliber quarterback despite  criticism and proved it tonight completing 11-of-17 passes for 189 yards, two touchdowns and 1 interception.

Matt Barkley on the other hand didn’t have a great showing. He completed only 4-of-9 of his passes for 45 and one interception leaving a huge cloud over his roster spot.
Not exactly the start Matt Barkley was hoping for.

Ultimately I think the roster spot goes to Tebow, he’s proved himself just a tad more than Barkley has. Plus his leadership, character and determination which is unmatched. I also think he can be some what of a Swiss Army knife for coach Kelly and his creative offensive style.
Cuts are on Saturday so we won’t have to wait to long to see who makes the team. It’s worth noting that either player, Tebow or Barkley, could be looking over their shoulder of the Redskins cut ties with RGIII. Chip Kelly has been rumored to be interested in Griffin if he gets released.
