NFL Week 8 the NFL season is flying by. Just as quickly Fantasy Football Owners dreams of championship gold are falling to the ground. In an injury plagued season it’s truly survival of the fittest. Cowboys returned to the spotlight this week after a Dez Bryant and Greg Hardy argument. But more importantly for those Dez Bryant owners who held strong to keeping him, he’s looking to return to the Cowboys soon. Randle who was looking good for the Cowboys before Romo injury has now found himself benched and suspended. Meanwhile in the AFC Peyton and Luck seem to have lost all their mojo from last year. Peyton is on many leagues waiver wire and Luck has owners dreaming of regret. I’m not ready to kill Luck but if you can offer him up for Andy Dalton or a stud running back pull the trigger.
Marry: Devonta Freeman.
By now you should’ve heard about the Falcons electrifying running back. Freeman pretty much stole his starting spot from Coleman. Freeman took advantage of a Coleman injury to show he should really be the starting running back. That desire has confused Freeman to be one of the most productive running backs in the league this season. Freeman is the league leader in rushing yards and touchdowns. It’s doubtful that if you don’t have Freeman on your roster now you won’t get him. And if you have Freeman on your roster don’t let him go. Productive running backs are almost impossible to come by.
Kill: Andrew Luck
I hinted at this earlier but Luck isn’t a typical kill. Luck can very well come back from his early season struggles so don’t panic and trade him for peanuts. Dangle Luck out there and see who’s willing to bite. Luck 1398 yards, 11 touchdowns, 9 interceptions are far from what was predicted but those aren’t week 3 Matthew Stafford numbers. Those are still productive numbers but if you either have Luck benched or have bigger holes try to fill those needs with Luck.
Smash: Detroit Lions Defense
I’m a big fan of using swapping out your defense based on who is playing whom. Last week Jacksonville Jaguars were the top fantasy defense in many leagues, yet only owned 2% of leagues. This week’s defense darling I believe will be Detroit Lions. Lions take on Kansas City minus any offense threat worth noting. KC is at the bottom of the league and passing yards and touchdowns. They have no running game with Jamaal Charles. The Lions might not get you huge points but you should wake up feeling good about their chances against that team.
