Josh Norman is having one hell of a 2015 season and it doesn’t look like he’s stopping anytime soon.
The Panthers CB definitely has a chip on his shoulder, and rightfully so, he’s arguably one of the NFL’s Top Corner Back. His impressive start to 2015 has garnered much needed attention to the Carolina Panthers. Norman is becoming a household name and a consistent SportsCenter top 10 feature.
The Carolina Panthers traveled down to division rival, Tampa Bay, in search to continue their winning season. The Bucs aren’t the most threatening team, but who can predict making a defensive touchdown? Apparently, Josh Norman can. The NFL is wishy washy about what they allow. If you’re not studying it faithfully, you can be a little confused about what you can do and be fined for, luckily Josh Norman he had a brilliant idea to ask the NFL personally before being punished.
“I told the guy, ‘Look, man, this is what I’m gonna do,'” Norman said in the locker room after the game. “He was cool with it. He was like, ‘OK.’ I don’t think he believed me. But I did.”
“I got a little tip,” Norman said. “I knew he was going to continue throwing at me. I was bound to get one of ’em, shoot.”
Even though he got the nod from the executive, Norman was still penalized for the dance because he used the ball as a prop, but still, who can predict their own touchdowns? Well, we wont call Norman a psychic yet, but he does study film and formations and acknowledged that his “tip” was remembering what he studied and being able to adjust.
The Carolina Panthers needed a heel and it seems like they found it in Josh Norman. He gives this team spunk and character; he’s the type of excitement fans like to see. If Norman continues this path, he should definitely be in talks of being a league top 5 CB; if he isn’t already. The Carolina Panthers have a number of things to approve before they head to Seattle October 18th, but I don’t think they have to worry about Lake Norman.
