Welcome back walkers! The Fall is officially upon us as Rick Grimes takes over our screens.
The episode opened with flashbacks. We are getting caught up with Rick and the gang after the killing of Reg. The episode may confuse you with them going back and forth with flashbacks, but it helps that the flashbacks are in black and white. Now, the show doesn’t take you too far back, it details how Rick came up with the plan to draw the walkers away from Alexandria. Rick experiences a few hiccups, as expected, but nothing prepares you to die. Here are 5 things that ruffled my feathers, yes, I totally said that, in the season 6 premier of “The Walking Dead”:
- We got introduced to a new character, Heath. When I first saw him, I couldn’t put my figure on who he was, but it dawned on me, it was Corey Hawkins who played Dr. Dre in “Straight Outta Compton”. I’m not familiar with the comics, but I’m curious to see his character develop; if it even does. We also have to petition to get him a new lacefront.

- Morgan is back and in full force. When Morgan reappeared at the end of last season, it was a sign of relief for me. Morgan brings humanity back to the show; He brings back the Rick we grew to love. Morgan doesn’t seem too much different, that can always change, but you can genuinely see him care for Rick and remind him of who he once was. Morgan is needed around this group, they all seem… dead. No pun intended.

- Rick is eliminating all those who pose a threat to his existence. Rick has become Deanne’s voice. She has turned cold since losing her husband; She agrees to everything Rick wants. Rick runs Alexandria now.

- Even though Rick has taken over, there are the original members of Alexandria who don’t care for him; In enters Carter. Carter has found his voice and thinks that Rick is on the road to destruction, and taking them with him. Carter feels that Rick is out of control and Deanna is no longer herself, so someone has to do something. Carter plots to kill Rick, until of course, Rick hears him. Rick spares his life, but not for long. Carter ends up helping the group build a strong defense against the walkers, but as he was running, a walker grabbed him and chewed his face off. Yup, and just like that, he’s dead.

- The horn. Someone is drawing the walkers to Alexandria and ruining Rick’s ALMOST flawless plan, but who is it? Who’s causing hell in Alexandra? Whoever it is just unleashed something no one was prepared for, not even Rick.
Next week is sure to be a thriller. See ya then!
