They want athletes to lie and pretend to be remorseful. It helps them sleep better at night regardless if it is true or not.
Well you got your wish with Greg Hardy, he has finally said he is sorry. He likely doesn’t mean it, but that doesn’t matter because this is all people wanted to hear. This sounds nothing like anything ever tweeted from his account, meaning it was carefully crafted by Cowboys PR and legal department.

The reality of the situation is if Hardy would have just told pretty lies from the beginning and not acted like himself on and off the field, he would be treated differently by media and fans.
