Holly Holm is continuing to enjoy the recognition that comes with defeating Ronday Rousey all over the world and her high school in New Mexico doesn’t want to miss out on the fun. TMZ reports that the school athletic director Matthew Espinoza will raise a banner in her honor for being an inspiration.
“We’re going to hang a banner in the gym to recognize her because she is quite the inspiration for our female athletes… The whole city of Albuquerque is proud of her…She was so tiny back then … and now she’s the talk of the world. It’s crazy!” Espinoza says.
At this point, I’m sure Holm is not an inspiration for just the females athletes, it’s not always that you can brag that the new UFC champ went to your high school. From all the recognition she will be getting, this tribute at home where she grew up has to be very special for Holly Holm.
