Master P has the ultimate rags to riches story, going from the Calliope Project to the honcho of one of the world biggest rap labels.
Along the way, he was the first to dabble in sports agency, and even pursued a career in the NBA. During a sit down with Thisis50, P gave a tour of his No Limit offices, talked about his start in the business and told a story about the time he and Gilbert Arenas beat Michael Jordan in a pick-up game.
To hear P tell it, his son Romeo Miller (better known as a ‘Lil Romeo), who played a couple seasons at USC, wanted to wear his dad’s P. Miller Gear sneakers at a basketball camp sponsored by Jordan. Romeo called his pops, who immediately flew to the camp, teamed up with Gilbert Arenas and Metta World Peace (then Ron Artest) and a couple other college players, and beat Jordan and some other big-name pros, winning his son the right to wear whatever sneakers he pleased.
Crazier things have happened, but you have to wonder if this is the pick-up game where Ron Artest broke of his ‘Airness’ ribs.
