If I paid $500 for a sign and someone torn it down, I’d be a little perturb about the situation as well.
I would want to be reimbursed for my sign by someone. Was Cam Newton being a little petty stealing the sign? Absolutely, but by him stealing the sign what the Packers fans really think about black people came flowing out.
Mike Dobs, a resident of Fayetteville, N.C., proudly displayed the sign that read, “North Carolina Cheesehead,” which he told the Fayetteville Observer he printed last year at the cost of $500. Dobs told the Fayetteville paper he was “disgusted” by Newton’s actions. Dobs’ son-in-law, David Sessoms, told Omnisport that Newton is “evil.”
David Sessoms said they weren’t happy about “evil” Newton’s “blatant disregard” for their property. Sessoms also posted about the incident on his personal Facebook page, where he called Newton “ghetto” and an “a—hole.”
Look at all those code words for the N-Word being thrown around. If the fan wants to be mad at Cam for stealing his sign, I really have no issues with that, in some aspects I even agree that if I pay money to go to game I should be able to bring any sign I want that isn’t offensive.
But, hard to feel sympathy for them when they are calling people ghetto and implying that Newton who has a $100+ million contract was going to rob them.
Can you imagine what they are saying in private if this is what they put out in public?
