As we have more details about the violent attacks in Paris yesterday, we learned that at least one of the suicide bombers tried to enter the France-Germany soccer game but was stopped at the gate. The security guard who goes by Zouheir said the suicide bomber was wearing an explosive vest when he was patted down as part of the routine before entering the stadium 15 minutes into the game.
The suicide bomber blew himself up while attempting the back away from security, a police report confirmed that episode. It could have been a lot worse to an already very bloody night in Paris, the stadium which was at full capacity with 80K people, would have been a deadly target. The players and fans were never made aware of what was occurring outside by fear it would cause panic but by the second half fans were getting the news with phone calls and text messages.
The Germany team spent the night in the stadium before flying back in the morning, the french soccer federation already confirmed that they will travel to England for another friendly this Tuesday despite the attacks.
