I’ll be the first to admit that I personally picked the Indianapolis Colts as the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl and things haven’t exactly worked out. The Colts are tied for the dividend lead with a 4-5 record. Their star quarterback Andrew Luck is out for he next month and veteran Matt Hasselbeck will be the key to keeping the team afloat while Luck is out. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton proved to us last year that he could play as a number one option at wideout but this season he hasn’t been up to par. Hilton is placing all the blame on himself for the team’s disappointing start despite missing their quarterback.
“I haven’t made the plays I really wanted to make, especially with the record we have. Hands down the blame is on me. I know I have to be able to make plays to help this team win and I haven’t been.”
Hilton did sign a huge 5-year deal worth $65-million this offseason so I’m sure he is feeling some pressure. Hilton has 43 receptions for 703 yards and three touchdowns this season. If the Colts can string together a couple wins over the next few game, they will still be the favorites to win the AFC South.
