I’m not sure how many people are going to agree with the Cardinals’ head coach on this one, but at least we know that Arians has confidence in his players.
When speaking with the Arizona Republic, Bruce Arians said:
“He’s playing probably as well as Deion Sanders did when he was young,”
Mind you, PrimeTime stepped onto the field and registered 5 interceptions to go along with a solid 11 yards per punt return during his rookie campaign. Peterson has only had 5 interceptions or more in a year once in his career, and currently stands at two this year.
It’s a bold statement to compare a current player to arguably the GOAT when it comes to dynamic DB’s. Of course, Peterson has been a fantastic player for the Cardinals and Bruce Arians is just looking out for his guy – so I’m sure there is an argument to be made by Cardinals fans.
But what do you think? Does Peterson, or even Revis, come close to touching PrimeTime in his glory days?
