Still beaming from the Eagles 23-20 win over the Bills Sunday, Chip Kelly couldn’t wait to gloat about Sam Bradford at a Monday presser.
“Name any quarterback playing at a really high level now and they’ve been playing in the system for years, not for months, and that’s what Sam’s case is. He’s just been playing in our system for months. But I’ve said it and I’ll continue to say it, I just see improvement from Sam on a weekly basis that gets you excited about him.”
Kelly has reason to puff his chest. After a slow start, it seems Bradford is rounding the learning curve and settling into the offense. That’s good news for Kelly and the Eagles who invested a lot in Bradford in an off-season filled with head-scratching player personnel moves. Birds fans were beginning to lose faith in the system Kelly has attempted to sell them.
Two of the Eagles’ final three games will be crucial division matchups that will likely determine which of the NFC East teams gets in the playoffs so it’s a perfect time for Bradford to play his best football. Though predicting who wins the NFC East each year seems to be nothing science has figured out yet.
