When you’re a $40 million running back playing in a system that doesn’t fit, you have to try whatever you can to get your spot back.
DeMarco Murray said forget the chain of command, and according to Ed Werder, ran to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, to voice his concerns over his lack of carries.

Murray played just 14 snaps in the Eagles’ 35-28 victory over the Patriots, while Darren Sproles got 35 snaps and former Oregon Ducks star Kenjon Barner played two less snaps than DeMarco.
Chip Kelly chalked it up to the Patriots size at linebacker.
“It’s as big a group of linebackers as you’re going to face,” Kelly said, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “And then we just kind of – as the game expressed itself – (went) with the hot hand. And we used all three. DeMarco had a big run on the inside zone on that 13-play drive.”
Kelly said he started the 5-foot-6, 190-pound Sproles and featured the 5-9, 195-pound Barner early because they are smaller and shiftier Murray.
Meaning they just hit the hole.
