With a limited amount of credible evidence Bill Cosby will not be charged for the 2 sexual assault allegations made towards him. The Los Angeles County District Attorney Office has been investigating the 78 year old comedian for allegations that he drugged a woman (identified as Chloe Goins by CNN) at a playboy mansion party in August of 2008.
“We are satisfied that the Los Angeles DA’s office fully and fairly evaluated all the facts and evidence, and came to the right conclusion,” said Chris Tayback, a lawyer for Cosby.
While his accuser’s attorney Spencer Kuvin had this to say:
“We recognize that the bar for criminal prosecution, which is proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, is extremely high,” he said. “We nonetheless commend the efforts of the LAPD and the District Attorney’s Office with respect to their criminal investigation.”
The reasoning for the dismissal was one of the accusers couldn’t prove she was at the Playboy mansion (her witness said she didn’t even know her) and the other accuser claimed the rape happened in 1965 and the statute of limitations were up on that. Cosby has denied he has raped any of the 50 women who have accused him.
