Just a couple of weeks ago, the notion was that Kansas City had little to no chance of retaining Gordon, which makes you wonder why Gordon gave in on the hometown discount.
Two months ago, Gordon declined his $14 million player option for the 2016 season.
What changed?
Well, you must realize Gordon is a Nebraska native and just like him, most citizens from that area are naturally Royals fan.
However, with Gordon set to turn 32-years-old a month from now, it makes you wonder why he agreed to take this deal, considering this was his last chance to cash in.
Nonetheless, Royals fans must be rejuvenated with the news.
