Jay Cutler is much like the president. Whatever side you’re on, he’s probably not as good/bad as you think. After finishing 6-10 and in the basement of the NFC North, Chicago has the 11th pick in the NFL Draft and of course, the question on if they will draft a quarterback is front and center. ProFootballTalk had the quote:
“I would say I get it, I totally get it. At some point it’s going to happen. They’re going to get somebody else. I’m not going to play until I’m 43. I understand that. But on the flip side, I’d be like, we really could have gotten somebody who can help me right now. So that would be my two reactions. If they do it, I will help whoever they bring in as much as I could and kind of see how it unfolds.”
The Bears have 2 main options if they decide to go QB at 11:
- Memphis QB Paxton Lynch
- At 6’7, Lynch is an athletic specimen. He has slowly pulled back the urge to run when things break down and keeping his eyes downfield, but Lynch will still need work once he is drafted into the NFL. There have been flashes of accuracy, but it hasn’t stayed consistent.
- Cal QB Jared Goff
- Goff has had good field vision throughout his college career with a quality arm and great accuracy, but bad habits have shown up a lot of times when the pressure is on from the defense.
ComcastSportsNet Chicago has the Bears taking UCLA LB Myles Jack, who they consider the top prospect in the draft. What should they do Bears fans?
