Kent Bazemore is no longer a cheerleader, after playing significant minutes coming from the bench last season for the Hawks, he stepped into a starting role with DeMarre Carroll leaving for the Raptors as a free agent. He is playing with a lot of confidence, so much confidence that he predicted that Kobe will score 50 points before the season is over.
“I’ve told people he’s going to have a 50-point game this year,” Bazemore said. “People think I’m crazy, but he’s going to have a 50-point game this year. Mark my words.”
Bazemore has had a brief stint with the Lakers so he saw first hand Kobe’s work ethic so I can easily see how he can’t ignore Kobe’s struggles early this season and thinks he will bounce back. Kobe is playing a lot better of course than at the beginning of the season but scoring 50 points is not a random feat in the NBA, the fans will be happy to see him complete his farewell tour healthy especially after he complained recently from sore achilles.
I’m sure Bazemore doesn’t see it like that since he doesn’t even think Kobe is old.
“People say he’s old,” Bazemore said. “I mean, no one in this league is really old. People just think we’re old ’cause we’re retired at 32, 33, 34. He’s not old at all.”
I will be checking Bazemore’s Twitter account if Kobe has one of those games where he goes crazy hopefully the Hawks will be off that night because he will have a lot to say.
