Miami Heat President Pat Riley shut down rumors on if Lebron James ever requested Head Coach Erik Spoelstra to be fired during his time on the team. Riley spoke to reporters, as he took a strong stance on the matter Via Michael Wallace from ESPN reports:
“Not from him to me, ever,” Riley said of James. “So a lot of stuff is following him out the door. Whether it’s right or wrong, it’s just the nature of it. But as far as that goes, no, he never, ever walked in and said anything.”
Since the Cavaliers fired Coach David Blatt its been speculation that James wanted Blatt to be fired as Heat part owner Raanan Katz said James played a big part in Blatt’s firing from the Cavaliers last week, Katz also said that James wanted to get Spoelstra fired as Heat head coach during the four years James was with the team. Just like Riley General manager David Griffin of the Cavaliers firmly denied that James played any role on the firing of Blatt.
