It appears Greg Hardy has put on the blue and white for the final time in Dallas. Reports out of the Cowboys camp is that they are absolutely done dealing with the controversial pass rusher. Details from 105.3 The Fan in Dallas:
“Sources tell me Dallas has decided to not retain Hardy, who was paid $8.8-mil last year on an incentive-laded plan that netted the Cowboys just six sacks. Still, his on-the-field performance isn’t the top issue…Hardy’s behavior – and even his attendance – was a bit too erratic for his Valley Ranch bosses, who feel like they offered him new life after his domestic-violence case forced him away from Carolina.”
Whether it was for the right reasons or not, the Cowboys offered a hand to Hardy to help him get his life back on track. My guess is according to him he doesn’t need it. Why do I guess that? Look at his track record. His actions speak louder than his words ever could. Words are for what you want to do and actions are what you did. His actions have been selfish, disrespectful, and short sighted.
Which may seem wrong, but just remember that karma isn’t instantaneous, it waits until you’ve forgotten the things you’ve done, and then it strikes. That athleticism is going to wear out and soon all he will have left is his personality. As for his potential suitors in free agency, I couldn’t name you one. What team out there, after the Cowboys, is desperate enough to add a gasoline like Greg Hardy into their locker room?
But hey, it’s never too late to make a change on a personal level, because at this point nothing he could do on the field could make me forget the way he has handled himself off the field.
