This is a story that Jim Brown started over 50-years ago — that the late Michael Crawford saw coming true — and that is now official as Hampton University will trot out the first HBCU Division 1 Lacrosse team.

Michael Crawford died Dec. 28, 2010 in Brooklyn, N.Y. — from an undiagnosed enlarged heart and went into cardiac arrest. Crawford was one semester short of graduating from Hampton with a degree in sports management — and was also attempting to bring Lacrosse to Hampton.
His mother Verina Crawford — pushed on for her son — calling Lloyd Carter — a retired Baltimore fire chief and officer with the Maryland Army National Guard.
Lacrosse is an awesome sport, and is a healthy and fun alternative for any kid who might not want to play football or hockey.
