I could have told you this without the polling data.
Just how society works even if people don’t want to talk about it. Here is the data.
Forty-six percent of white people surveyed are rooting for the Broncos, compared with just 34 percent for the Panthers. Of the seniors polled, it’s 55-28 in favor of the Broncos. Non-white voters (53 percent to 26 percent) and voters under 45 (46 percent to 31 percent) are rooting for the Panthers.
Only 46 percent of white people surveyed have a favorable view of Cam Newton, compared with the 23 percent who hold an unfavorable view. Peyton Manning drew a 77-11 favorable/unfavorable split.
Overall Cam’s favorably percentage is as high as Manning, but a solid 57%.
The really polarizing quarterback in the NFL isn’t Manning or Cam, it is Tom Brady.
Tom Brady is simultaneously the most-liked quarterback in the league (23 percent said he’s their favorite) and the least-liked quarterback in the league (29 percent said he was their least-favorite). Non-player Tim Tebow was the second-least-liked QB, oddly, at 10 percent (7 percent also said he was their favorite quarterback).
Interesting thoughts on Tebow considering he isn’t in the league.
One last thing the poll answers and that is the age-old question on if Joe Flacco is elite.
