Roddy White had a very quiet season with the Falcons, Julio Jones was the primarily target and he had to take a back seat. The Falcons have some decisions to make and Roddy White will soon find out if he is still part of their plan but he admits that he hasn’t heard from them yet.
“No, I haven’t spoken to anybody,” the veteran wide receiver said when asked if he had been given any indication from the Falcons as to whether he’s a part of their future. “I haven’t been given clarity about anything.”
The wide receiver let it known that he doesn’t want to go anywhere and Atlanta is where he wants to be even though he will have several options as a free agent.
“Do I wish I could be a more significant part of the offense? Absolutely,” White said. “But that’s not what they wanted me to do and you have to enjoy and embrace the role you have….I’d bet every dollar I had that I’m going to be a Falcon…It would be a tragedy if I had to leave.”
Roddy White knows better than anybody the NFL is a business and the Falcons will make a decision that makes sense regardless of his feelings but we can’t fault him for trying to speak things into existence.
