Whether you like the man or not, Barry Bonds is the home-run king and he’s arguably the greatest player of all-time.
Nowadays, Bonds is the hitting coach for the Miami Marlins.
Over the weekend, the Marlins played the Washington Nationals, so of course Bonds was asked about the Bryce Harper comparisons.
He is a beast. [But] he doesn’t compare to me yet. He has a long way to go [to be compared] to me. He is not even close to me. But he is one hell of a ballplayer. I watch him, I admire and I look at him, and I’m in awe. You don’t see that often.
After heading Bonds’ comments, Harper had this to say:

While Harper has a long way to go to be mentioned in the same breathe as Bonds, when you compare their first four seasons, you may be surprised (via Bleacher Report).
