Several teams and players have publicly made their desires known for their team to draft their favorite player in the upcoming NFL draft. Some want a star running back, some desire a pass rusher but the biggest name as of late is Florida State’s star defensive back Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey’s former FSU teammate Jameis Winston would love for the Bucs to draft Ramsey and according to BleacherReport.com, he’s willing to make a huge sacrifice.
“[Florida State] definitely have the best player in the world in Jalen Ramsey,” Winston told Mark Cook of PewterReport.com. “People talk about his position. But Jalen is the best cornerback, safety… I will take a pay cut to play with him again. He has a fierce mentality. And the best thing about him is he is a Seminole! I have already shot [Bucs general manager Jason Licht] some texts.”
I can’t disagree with Jameis on this on, regardless to if he plays cornerback or safety, I think Ramsey is the best player in the draft. He has the unique ability of tackling well in open field, playing physical defense on receivers and making plays on the ball. I don’t seen Ramsey falling to the 9th pick overall so the Bucs would likely have to trade up to honor Winston’s request.
