The life of crime must be more exhilarating than owning a Vegan restaurant in NYC because this couple went from Adam & Eve to Thelma & Louise.

Sarma Melngailis and Anthony Strangis will be brought back to New York to face charges on a 24-count indictment that they failed to pay over $40,000 in wages to 84 workers at Pure Food & Wine in Gramercy and One Lucky Duck in the Chelsea Market, stole $844,000 from four investors and failed to pay $400,000 in taxes. They also allegedly spent $2 million at Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun Casinos and on luxury jewelry, trips to Europe and Uber rides.
“Detectives were able to track down Anthony Strangis and Sarma Melngailis by a pizza delivery sent to their hotel,” said Bob Stahlke, a spokesman for the Sevierville, Tenn., Police Department.
“Mr. Strangis ordered the pizza and brought it to the hotel room they were staying at in the Fairfield Inn.”
“We cannot confirm if the pizza is vegan or not,” Stahlke added.
I highly doubt they’ll be getting many Vegan meals in jail.
