2. Interesting lineups
Team USA’s starting five last night consisted of Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and DeMarcus Cousins.
While that lineup has tons of offensive fire power, I don’t believe that’s the best lineup possible.
Trust me, I understand why Melo started, considering he’s the OG of the team and how can you argue against Cousins?
However, the combination of Melo and Cousins down-low is very vulnerable defensively.
Ideally, the perfect starting five would be Irving, Thompson, George, Durant and Jordan.
With that lineup, you still have tons of fire power offensively, while having a true rim protector in Jordan. Even Durant has shown signs of being a rim protector at times.
Now, if you just want to see offense, imagine a lineup of Irving, Thompson, George, Anthony and Durant.
