Miami rap legend Luther Campbell is a die-hard HEAT fan and he is understandably upset that Wade decided to leave for Chicago. Luther Campbell is pinning the blame on Pat Riley and he may have a point.
The acrimony between Wade and Riley started during last year’s free agency period, as the two powers butted heads for first time in their long relationship. Somewhere along that process, the trust between Wade and Riley faltered as Riley keep chasing better or younger players, instead of rewarding Wade for what he did for the franchise in the past.
It all came to a head this season and Wade is gone now and Riley is partially at fault. However, calling for Riley to be fired is a bit much.
FIRE PAT RILEY NOW

The HEAT should have found a way to pay Wade and keep him long term but it didn’t happen, but let’s not negate what Riley has done to make basketball in Miami relevant on a global scale. Before Riley took the helm, the HEAT were an after thought in Miami, much less the NBA, and Riley built the team into a powerhouse fairly quickly after taking control.
Let’s not discard acquiring Zo, and Shaq, and Bosh, and LeBron along with many other star players. I understand where Uncle Luke is coming from I get it, but I think HEAT fans owe it to Riley to see what his contingency plan is before calling for his head.
Just like Wade is getting the benefit of doubt for his past service with his Chicago deal, maybe Pat Riley should too.
