I remember a Dave Chappelle interview where he stated that no matter how much money he was offered, he would not play a role in which he had to wear a dress. Well, for failed bank robber Jordan Wise, all it took was a potential $780 score to put on a dress with heels, a bra, and a church hat.
The alleged robbery took place at Santander Bank in Staten Island New York, where it’s alleged that 24 year old Jordan Wise approached a bank teller in full church lady gear, and brandished a water gun as he demanded money. Wise made off with a whole $780, but later turned himself into police custody.
Here are more details from the NY Post:
A cross-dressing man who donned a dress and brassiere during a Staten Island bank robbery admitted that he was armed during the alleged crime – but with a “water gun,” new court papers show.
Jordan Wise, 24, allegedly told feds he used the toy to hold up Santander Bank in Stapleton last Monday — while wearing a long black-and-white dress, silver heels, sunglasses, bra and sequined hat, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday in Brooklyn federal court.
Wise turned himself in Sunday after cops released surveillance video of him making off with $780 in cash while bizarrely dressed in women’s garb.
He’s accused of ditching the clothes in a bag after changing at a nearby bodega into a more comfortable outfit – plaid shorts, blue and white Nike Jordan sneakers and no shirt.
The complaint says Wise brandished a silver handgun as he told the teller, “Give me the money. Put it in a bag. Hurry up.”
He was held without bail Monday following a brief court appearance.
In the future, Jordan Wise should heed the words of Dave Chappelle. Don’t ever let the conditions of the world force you to wear a dress for money.
