It’s no secret that Kaepernick is adopted. It’s a story that has been told quiet a few times, and its honestly a beautiful story about a white family not only adopting Kaepernick, but embracing him as a black child.
Since Kaepernick has expressed his stance on racial injustice in America, people have felt compelled to ridicule him as a player and sadly, a person. Kaepernick has unintentionally unveiled the ugly faces of America, and now it seems his biological mother has some words for him.
@Kaepernick7 There's ways to make change w/o disrespecting & bringing shame to the very country & family who afforded you so many blessings.

@Kaepernick7 The path less traveled doesn't need to be one of destruction. #beenthere #besmarter #berespectful

Kaepernick brought no shame to his family. It’s mind-boggling that people equate believing in something and choosing to protest for peace as shameful. How can you show solidarity for a flag when the belief and what the flag represents, you’re shaming him for? The purpose, or the ideal of the American flag is to represent a nation of people of liberty, of peace, justice and togetherness. The American flag, is meant to uphold the ideals of freedom and not CONDITIONED freedom. I think that’s what people are forgetting. Kaepernick is standing in what America is supposed to be and forcing the conversation to start change. Change won’t happen if we make a million think pieces and not working for the change in why he’s sitting. The flag will be ok. There is substance and meaning in his message. I need for those who are struggling to understand, to genuinely ask “why”. Encouraging and continuing ignorance won’t change a thing.
In all this, one has to wonder how the Kaepernick’s feel. They have always embraced Colin for who he is. But, I’m sure they are playing it safe and keeping their comments to themselves.
