Metta World Peace believes he finally understands what caused long time friend, and former teammate, Lamar Odom to nearly die in a Nevada Brothel.
During an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, host Jason Lee asks Peace if he is concerned that Laker newbie Jordan Clarkson, who is rumored to be dating Kendall Jenner, is dating “a Kardashian.” Without hesitation Metta discusses the pros of being involved with the famous reality family and the cons.
I’m not worried but he better make sure he gets that clothing line poppin. When you mess with them they get everything poppin’ but they have a stigma.
That’s when the conversation turns to Lamar Odom.
I grew up with Lamar, I’ve known him since I was 10.
I came down really hard on the Kardashians. Me and Kris would text often she’s a nice person. When I found out that happened, when I found out that Lamar almost died, I went on a Kardashian rant.
I didn’t know what happened all I know is my boy is on his death bed so I just panicked. I blamed everybody.
I think that sometimes that fame, when you had it and you don’t get it anymore…
So it was the fame monster more than the Kardashians that are to blame for Odom’s downfall according to Metta. That’s plausible.
Currently Odom and Khloe Kardashian are still legally married. Odom continues to take it day by day and Kardashian is now dating Tristan Thompson who left his pregnant girlfiend to punch the Kardashian golden ticket.
