Fellas — if you’re wife agitates to the point that it drives you to rob a bank or commit a crime, it might be time to get out.
Lawrence John Ripple — a 70-year-old Kansas man — reportedly robbed a bank — telling the arresting authorities that he’d rather be in jail than living with his wife.
We can’t make this up.
John Ripple made the comments moments after he was arrested at a Kansas City bank, The Huffington Post reported.
Ripple allegedly handed a bank teller a note that demanded cash and warned that he had a gun. After collecting the money, he sat down in the bank’s lobby and waited for police to arrive. He also identified himself to a security guard as “the guy he was looking for,” The Associated Press reported.
Ripple later told investigators that he had been arguing with his wife and wrote the bank teller note in front of her. He said he would “rather be in jail than at home.”
John Ripple was arrested on two felony counts of robbery and aggravated robbery — but unfortunately for him — was released and may have had to return to his wife.
