Derrick Rose took the stand in his rape civil trial and explained to the jury that what happened on the night of the alleged rape was consensual.
“I know what’s rape but I know I didn’t do anything wrong.”
On the stand for the first time in the civil trial, Rose said the 30-year-old woman texted him she was feeling “horny” before coming over to his Beverly Hills mansion and pouncing on him.
“She came into the room and started to try to grab me, started to try to kiss me, and that’s something I’m not used to,” the 28-year-old NBA star said. “I just don’t like being forced into the issue.”
Rose said that shortly after the woman left the room, he looked out of the window and spotted her having poolside sex with his pal and co-defendant Randall Hampton.
Rose testified that the woman grabbed him as he approached the pair and started giving him oral sex.
“She grabbed me. Nothing I could say,” Rose testified. “She just started oral sex.”
Asked what Hampton was doing at the time, Rose didn’t mince words.
“He was having sex with her from behind,” the New York Knicks point guard said in a calm, soft voice.
Rose story is that she wasn’t forced to do anything and she actually initiated everything. The accuser says she was either drugged or too intoxicated to give consent and she didn’t want to have sex with Rose and his friends.
She doesn’t recall much of what happened, saying she only remembers flashes from the encounter.
Both Rose and the accuser have admitted to lies in their deposition before the trial.
