Much like Bossip said, what would you do if this were to happen to you? A woman in NYC was stripped of her winning jackpot after the casino claims it was a malfunction.
There’s one thing for sure, if that were to happen, all the class and respect I was raised with will fly out the door. For a casino to dare say that it was a machine malfunction, I’m going to need the FBI to go and investigate this lie.
The closest Katrina Bookman got to this jackpot was a photo of it. She took a selfie with her prize and then it was quickly taken away.
Escorted off the casino floor, she was told to come back the next day for the decision.
“I said what did I win? (The casino representative said,) ‘You didn’t win nothing,’” she recalled.
Bookman said the only thing the casino offered her was a steak dinner.
We are very happy to say that Bookman hired a lawyer to investigate this. Things of this nature are not right at all.
“They win and the house doesn’t want to pay out. To me that’s unfair,” Alan Ripka, Bookman’s attorney said.
Ripka and Bookman believe she should win the maximum allowed on the Sphinx machine, which the casino said is $6,500.
“The machine takes your money when you lose. It ought to pay it when you win,” Ripka stated.
We hope she receives at least a piece of that pie for her troubles.
