As he’s about to head into his second year or playfully called “sophomore year,” Kristaps Porzingis is working on getting his moves back up there with Dirk Nowitzki.
The Knicks have been quite fun to watch during this preseason. We got a glimpse of what some players could bring to the table as well as watch how some fight to get a spot on that roster. What’s Kristaps Porzingis been working on? He’s working on getting some of those Dirk moves.
Porzingis learns from Dirk tape: Porzingis, a 7-foot-3 power forward, said he watched a full Mavericks playoff game to study how teams defended the 7-footDirk Nowitzki in the postseason. Both power forwards have the similar ability to play away from the basket.
“It’s a different story in the playoffs than the regular season. I’m trying to learn that part,” he said. “That’s going to be tough, when it’s playoff time when they really start paying attention to you and really start putting you in situations where you’re not comfortable.”
Porzingis is a good student of the game so it won’t surprise me to see him get those moves perfected. Can he pull some of these off?
