Ahead of “Hell In A Cell,” WWE’s “It” girl Sasha Banks sat down with The Undefeated to discuss how tagging along with her cousin Snoop Dog (yes that Snoop Dog) made her fall in love with the sport, what “The Boss” is like outside of the ring and why she believes she is “The Beyonce of WWE.”
Set to make history on Sunday as the first woman to headline a WWE pay-per-view event Banks, who’s real name is Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado, embraces her new found moniker as she shatters the glass ceiling for women in the WWE.
“I’m a boss,” she said. “I was born to do this. I’m built for success. I’m here to show the world I’m the best. I’m not cocky. I’m confident. Any time I walk into the room, people are going to see me because I am a boss. When I walk into the room, people will know they’re in a room with the boss.”
“Oh, hell yeah, you’re right. I am the Beyoncé of the WWE. I am. The Beyoncé of the WWE. Beyoncé is the greatest, so I am the greatest. Not only in the Women’s division, I’m trying to show the guys I’m better than them. I can close out RAW every week if you give me the opportunity. I want to be the face of the women’s division and I will be.”
Of course she’s the Beyonce of WWE, her name is “Sasha Banks” like “Sasha Fierce.” With other rising female stars in the WWE, how long can Banks remain atop the pedestal? For as long as she likes .
