Dipset frontman Killa Cam is seeking legal counsel over Dana White and the UFC’s use of the song ‘Welcome to New York City’ to promote UFC 205. The commercials leading up to the event featuring the Conor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez fight had the 2002 song playing, but apparently Cam was not asked permission.
As first captured by Uproxx, Cam took to Instagram to voice his displeasure with Dana White and UFC, stating among other things: “somebody should’ve told them how I get down…” Sounds like fighting words to me. Cam does state that they will be hearing from his lawyer.
This will probably go nowhere and even if it does, UFC has enough money in its coffers to deal with this, should the need arise.
Check out Cam’s Instagram video message below. He has a very matter of fact laugh and tone throughout. What do you all think?
