A suspended, and much flabbier, Jon Jones had his way with recently retired UFC-vet Dan Henderson at FloSports’ Submission Underground 2 program yesterday.
Jones is currently suspended from fighting in the UFC for failing an in competition drug test prior to his July UFC 200 fight. Jon blames tainted “d*ck pills,” a.k.a off-brand Cialis, for his failed test.
Through an odd loophole in fighters’ UFC contract they are allowed to compete in these offshoot wrestling, grappling or jiu-jitsu tournaments while suspended. Jon wasted no time taking advantage of that loophole by challenging, and defeating, Dan Henderson.
Jon went on to challenge ex-UFC fighter Chael Sonnen to a fight in 2017. Chael quickly excepted.
Jon doesn’t seem remorseful for his failed test and litany of other mistakes, so no one should be surprised that he’s still finding ways to keep himself in the spotlight while serving this one year suspension.
It’s just the latest example of Jon Jones being Jon Jones.
