Kristaps Porzingis is in his second year and is just flourishing on. But as he revealed to a reporter, he knew no one expected much from him.
The Knicks had the worst loss of season as they were playing against the Cavaliers. Not to sound like a negative Nancy, but it was expected for them to perhaps lose but not this poorly. They might’ve lost but their chemistry looks great and things are finally coming together, which is something that Kristaps Porzingis has chimed in on.
Porzingis knows a thing or two about being doubted. Do you remember what his Draft Day was like?

Now that he’s in his sophomore year, this young man is a star and this is still only the beginning. He also realized the hardships he went through. Ultimately, he just wants to play ball.
DP: You’re well on your way to doing that here. How much more comfortable are you with New York, America and game situations now that you have a year under your belt?
KP: The first year was kind of hard for me. There was just too much attention, too much going on and I really just wanted to focus on basketball. All these offers were coming in, especially when I started playing a little bit, because nobody was really expecting much from me. But once I started playing there was really a lot going on. It was kind of crazy, because I didn’t know. But now that I’ve grown used to it and I’m in my second season. I’m doing a better job. I still can improve my off-the-court life, but I think I’m managing it better and my brothers are managing all the stuff better.
The Knicks’ winning streak may have been snapped but they’re still over .500. They’re on a west coast trip as they face the Kings next on Friday, December 9.
