Shaquille O’Neal is criticized by Draymond Green for his persistent taunting of his former teammate JaVale McGee

NBA players, both active and retired, have feuded with Shaquille O’Neal on several occasions. JaVale McGee was only one of the numerous people he had long-standing issues with. Draymond Green chose to weigh in on the contentious subject as well, claiming that the TNT analyst would purposefully make fun of McGee.

Draymond Green spoke on Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast, The Big Podcast. According to the YouTube video, the two spoke for almost fifty minutes about a wide range of subjects, from the current playoffs to historical occurrences. The two briefly discussed O’Neal’s maltreatment of JaVale McGee during one scene in the program. Shaq asked,

“Did y’all think I was picking on JaVale McGee when I was doing Shaqtin-A-Fool?”

Draymond replied to this saying, “You for sure used to pick on JaVale. 1000%.”

Although Green claimed that O’Neal would make disparaging remarks about McGee, he admitted that the lowlight footage would be amusing. But the forward for the Golden State Warriors went on to shatter a myth.

Owing to his frequent appearances on the notorious Shaqtin-A-Fool segment, a misperception about McGee’s intelligence had developed. However, Dray said that McGee was among the most intelligent players he had on the court. Draymond said,

“They definitely were his clips. They were f**king hilarious too, man. JaVale my guy though. There’s a common misconception that he’s a dumb guy. He’s one of the smartest players I’ve ever played with. He’s like a computer geek, like nerd. Basketball – he had some rough moments,”

Shaqtin-A-Fool on TNT was supposed to be a lighthearted feature that would leave viewers in splits. JaVale, on the other hand, participated in the show and was the athlete that won the most Shaqtin-A-Fool MVP awards. So, he had every right to be annoyed at the Los Angeles Lakers legend.
