Is it too soon for more CM Punk news?
I didn’t think so. Mr. Brooks has said on numerous occasions that he plans to continue his MMA career despite a lopsided loss in his September debut. In fact, Punk is already training and waiting to sit back at the negotiating table with the UFC.
As for his skills, this is what we remember most about CM Punk’s MMA debut.
Since then we’ve seen Mickey Gall defeat a very talented Sage Northcutt and solidify his position in the UFC, so maybe Punk just ran into a buzz saw. This should give him hope for his next fight. The question is whether that fight will be in the UFC?
Bellator President Scott Coker spoke with Newsweek about the possibility of welcoming CM Punk:
“If he was free from any [contractual] obligations and he wanted to fight under Bellator, we would definitely love to have a conversation with him. I believe he’s still under contract,” said Coker.
CM Punk remains an attraction and Bellator would surely welcome him with open arms. This’ll probably put pressure on UFC President Dana White to make sure Punk is making him money and not other promotions.
Prepare yourself for Punk 2.0!
