I see where Wade is trying to go here, but there is one big part he is missing.
Allen Iverson had a cultural impact that reached well beyond the basketball court, whereas LeBron going to HEAT had an impact strictly on the court and business wise.
A kid could relate to Allen Iverson and have no basketball skills at all. I think other NBA players saw what LeBron did and decided that maybe that is something they should try before LeBron won all the rings.
So, not quite apples to apples comparison and the idea of Super Teams have always existed in the NBA, but the way this move was calculated you do see other players like say a Kevin Durant willing to team up in order to get that ring. By the way KD isn’t taking a softer hit, so Wade didn’t help him at all.
