90s sitcom fans felt a bit of nostalgia when a Fresh Prince reunion photo started circulating the internets courtesy of Carlton Banks aka Alphonso Ribiero’s Instagram page. Of course James Avery, who played Uncle Phil was missing, R.I.P. to the late great actor. Also missing was the original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert. Fans familiar with the show know that Hubert left the show amid tension with fellow cast mate Will Smith. Hubert was replaced by Daphne Maxwell-Reid. Most fans were not happy about the switch and the internets are full of memes displaying the preference for Hubert over Maxwell-Reid.
Hubert caught wind of the reunion photo and took to Facebook to share her thoughts.
Wooo! She called Carlton a media hoe and Will Smith’s ass wipe. Scathing. The split from the show is a sore spot for Hubert and was over contract negotiations in which she felt Will did not use his influence to help the entire cast, thus the tension between the two.
Hubert seems to be in possession of a lot of behind the scenes dirt from the early days of Fresh Prince. No surprise here. That book would be a best seller and I’m sure there will be some juicy tidbits about the cast. Can we start a Go Fund Me page to get that book published sooner rather than later?
