A month ago Steve Harvey hired the real life Olivia Pope to revive his reputation but it still appears he’s hustling backwards. Recently, a video featuring Snoop Dogg pointing a gun at a Trump look-a-like was released.
This led to a twitter response from Donald Trump…
Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!

On Steve Harvey’s radio show Friday, Harvey reflected on the poor taste of the video and extended his commentary to the black community which he feels has shown a lack of respect for Donald Trump. Here is the quote vis the ROOT.
It wasn’t just that Harvey, who met with 45 shortly after he took office, took offense to the artistic portrayal of Snoop’s lack of caring about TrumPutin; it was the lengths he was willing to go to to chide black America once again for not respecting the office of the president.
“The problem with all this [criticism of Trump] is, is that there is an office in this country called the ‘president,’ and you have to respect the office,” Harvey said. “You really do. Whether you want to or not. You have to respect the office. They got laws.”
One could argue where was the respect from Donald Trump when he used a meeting with HBCU’s as a photo op to gain favor in the black community. Harvey was chastised after his meeting with Trump in his Trump Towers New York venue. Yet it seems he still is missing the root of why the meeting angered so many.
The climate of our country is one of divisiveness and exclusion. Even for those who decided to adopt the “Give Him a Chance” narrative, what has transpired less than 100 days into the Trump administration has been insulting to minorities. The White House features a cabinet with an Attorney General with a noted past with decades of racism and a chief strategist in Steve Bannon who ran a media platform which championed the idea of excluding minorities. The cherry on top? Several to choose from. Asking for President Obama’s birth records during his Presidency and false claims of wiretapping. Or Perhaps Ben Carson who is placed in a position to revive inner cities and likening the plight of Slaves to the Pursuit of the American Dream. It appears Donald Trump could learn a couple measures of respect before demanding as much.
