Here we go again with American University and another racism issue. This time black students in the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority were targeted with bananas hanging from nooses with the words “Harambe Bait” and “AKA” inscribed on them.

The incident appears to have been spurred on by electing Taylor Dumpson as the first black woman student government president.

American University is a private research school in Washington D.C., but with as many racial incidents this school has experienced, it might as well be in the deep south. Past incidents have including slurs against black and Muslim students, and postings on message boards blaming black people for Ebola with taunts of go back to Africa.
School administrators have responded by releasing statements condemning the incidents, but the racism endures. Flip the pages to see the rest of the photos.
