Brandon Jennings Shades Paul Pierce on Twitter After Last Game For Only Winning One Ring

Paul Pierce, aka “The Truth,” ended a hall of fame career on Sunday night as the Clippers lost to the Jazz in game 7 of their opening round playoff series. Pierce took to Twitter to express his thanks and opine on his career. Many current and former players followed suit and showed love, including Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade and Steve Nash. However, Brandon Jennings took the opportunity to throw shade.

After the tweet was posted, Jennings quickly deleted it but the internet is forever and many people screen grabbed the tweet before it was deleted. What was behind Jennings shade? He of the no all-star appearances and no championship fame. Both are LA guys, maybe something there. Although, Pierce is considerably older than Jennings.

Perhaps it’s a competitive thing. Maybe Jennings thinks when his career is over he may be seen as a better player than Pierce. He has a VERY long way to go, if that’s the case. Or, maybe Jennings is harkening back to a time when “basketball was great,” and you celebrated players and gave farewell tours to true legends in the game. Kareem, Magic, MJ, Kobe. No matter what, if you have nothing nice to say it’s probably best to say nothing at all.
