UFC President and Connor McGregor”s promoter Dana White appeared on TNT’s Inside the NBA last night following game one of the eastern conference finals. The question on everyone’s mind, is the status of the Mayweather v McGregor super fight. TNT analyst Shaquille O’Neal jumped right in and asked White directly. White said the McGregor side is done and he is working on coming to terms with Mayweather’s camp.
The specifics of the deal for McGregor are not known but Connor confirmed White’s comments in a statement released on his website, TheMacLife.com.
It is an honor to sign this record-breaking deal alongside my partners Zuffa LLC, The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Paradigm Sports Management. The first, and most important part of this historic contract, has now officially been signed off on. Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await (Mayweather adviser) Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days.
Mayweather is a smart businessman and will no doubt want most, if not all, of his contract demands met. As he should as the bigger star in this fight. Floyd is also a master showman and look for him to milk this period for all it’s worth to generate even more interest in the fight.
